Wax tables were used for writing down contracts and the household accounts. They were kept for a long period of time and were therefore often sealed. This wax table is a replica of an original excavated in Pompeii. The wax table contained the accounts of a Roman villa and it was written by a freed Roman slave.
This wax table contains three tablets, of which one is sealed. It can be opened. The wax table measures 11 x 10 cm. When opened, it measures 21 x 11 cm.
