Roman garlands like the laurel were worn by officials. Even emperors wore garlands of oak leaves as a symbol for power, loyalty and stability. Wearing a laurel already became fashionable in the Greek culture and the custom was laater adopted by the Romans. Perhaps the most well-known person depicted with an oak leave garland is emperor August. Garlands were also worn by officials during parades and they were presented as a gift to legionaries as a reward for special prestations.

These natural oak leaves are suitable for making at least six garlands. The branches can easily be bundled.
