Roman glass Amphora, turquoise

10(product tekst/content)
This glass amphora is a replica of several Roman originals. Amphorae were usually made of ceramic materials, but between the 1st and 4th century AD glass amphorae were used for similar purposes. Amphorae like this were perfect for storing wine, oils and solid materials like grain. This amphora is completely handmade using the same historical methods as were used in making the originals. Turquoise glass was very common in Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages. Many glass originals that have been excavated are turquoise.
