This gambeson is based on historical originals from the Middle Ages. It protects the torso, abdomen, back, shoulders and upper arms. For protection of the forearms, it is possible to purchase separate gambeson arm protectors. The gambeson can be worn separately or as padding under mail or armor. At the front, the gambeson is fastened with leather belts with brass roller buckles. The gambeson consists of layers of soft cotton between layers of heavy cotton. The gambeson is open under the armpits for extra freedom of movement.
