Napoleonic Hussar sabre AN XI, sharp

The swords of the second class Medium are manufactured from high-quality, untempered steel types with a hardness between 48–52 HRC. They are less well-balanced than swords of class High. If sharp, they are well-suited for cutting tests. If blunt (battle-ready), these swords are suitable for regular use in HEMA and reenactment. The battle-ready variant is equipped with a rounded tip and has a blade thickness of 2–3 mm.

Note: even swords of this class wear down. The formation of burrs is a normal form of wear. Always check your weapon for burrs before use and remove them if necessary.

• Blade hardness: minimum 48-52 HRC
• Blade runs fully through the grip.
• Pommel is riveted to the blade or soldered.
• Easy to handle but slightly less balanced than class ‘high’.

Tip: how to adjust the finish of plate armor and weapons yourself

Luxury (polished) – polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even polish an item to a mirror finish with this. Test on a small area first!

Hand-made (matte) – place the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Regularly check the matte effect. Smooth the finish with black sandpaper.

Antique (patinated) – place the steel in a damp environment (preferably outside) and let it rust. Remove the red layer of rust, leaving the corroded surface layer.

When packaging this item, we use only 100% recycled plastic and recycled paper/cardboard sourced from FSC certified forests. A large portion of the material is reused directly without the intervention of the recycling process. Recycle the material by separating your waste.
