Product description

This Alemannic belt buckle is based on originals excavated at the Niederstotzingen burial (Germany). Buckles like this were worn by all Germanic and Merovingian tribes around the 6th century AD. The belt buckle was excavated in grave 9, a male grave.
This buckle is suitable for belts with a width up to 3 cm. The buckle measures 5 x 4,5 cm.
The graves of the South German town of Niederstotzingen contained many luxurious burial gifts. Together with this belt buckle, a sword, seax, shield edge, shield boss, lance, needles, knife, scissors and silver horse reigns were found.
