A beautiful replica sword, based on medieval historical swords and inspired by the life of the knight Tancred of Galilee. He was a well-known knight and one of the leaders of the First Crusade. Under his authority, Bethlehem was conquered, and he also conquered Jerusalem with the crusaders. After the crusade, he was awarded the title of Prince of Galilee and Tiberias. He also managed to conquer pieces of land in the Byzantine empire. One side of the pommel is decorated with the Nurit: the red flower of Galilee. The other side shows the Templar Cross, symbol of the Order of the Knights Templar. Both of these signs symbolized what Tancred had accomplished and experienced in his life. The brown leather grip is beautifully decorated with brass decorations. The blade has a deep fuller, which provides extra balance. The sword is delivered including a luxurious handmade leather scabbard with belt, so you can wear it around your waist. The blade is made of 1085 tempered carbon steel with a strength of 52 HRC and is semi-sharp. A beautiful decorative sword for your medieval weapon collection, and you can blunten the blade to use it as a battle-ready sword for sword fighting, reenactment, HEMA and living history.

Prevent rust and corrosion by oiling your weapons regularly. Remove rust easily with black sandpaper. Remove burrs with a whetstone. Make sure you have removed all burrs before using a battle-ready weapon, as they can cause wounds.

Maintenance & care
Just as with weaponry, you can care for your shoes and leatherware by applying a little Ballistol after cleaning. This prevents the leather from drying out.

Sharpening service

This item is semi-sharp and designed for decorative purposes. It can be made razor sharp at a surcharge. When using the sharpening service, the return right and warranty expires. The extra delivery time is approx. 2 weeks.

Blunting service

The blade of this sword can be blunted (2,5-3 mm) at a surcharge. Please note: although the thickness will be the same as a battle-ready sword, the return right and warranty expires when using the blunting service. Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.

Please note. After finishing the product yourself, the warranty and return right expire. Celtic WebMerchant is not responsible for the obtained result."
