This pewter badge was worn in England between the 14th and 15th century.

St. Edmund or Edmund the martyr was king of East Anglia when the Vikings invaded in 869 AD. Edmund was captured, but refused to give up this Christian religion. As a result the Vikings shot and beheaded him.
