This cabasset is made after a 16th century Maltese original that was used in 1565 during the Siege of Malta by the Turks. Helmets like this were worn all over Europe and were part of the collections of i.a. the National Museum of Nürenberg, Musée de l`Armée in Paris, the Palace Armoury in Malta and the National Museum in Vienna.
The cabasset has rope-shaped edges and a typical bulge at the top. It weighs approx. 3,1 kg.

Choosing the size that fits you best
Add 3,5 cm to your head circumference if you wear an arming cap under your helmet.
Add 2,5 cm to your head circumference if you wear a chainmail coif under your helmet.
Add 6 cm to your head circumference if you wear both an arming cap and a chainmail coif under your helmet.
Maintenance & care
Prevent rust and corrosion by oiling your armour regularly. Remove rust easily with black sandpaper.
