The front shows the Templar Cross, the symbol of the Knights Templar. The back shows the Templar Seal: two knights on the same horse with the text: SIGILUM MILITUM. This is short for: Seal of the Soldiers of the Temple of Christ. The Temple Order was a brotherhood with the structure of a monk order, which was part of the armies that fought against the Muslims in the Holy Land during the Crusades.
