This axe is a replica of a 10 th </ sup> century original found in Langeid, Norway, in grave 8. A warrior grave, in which also a decorated Viking sword has been found. The blade of this 'danish axe' ended in a wider part, which could be made razor-sharp at the tip. This axe was clearly intended for war and presumably had a long shaft. Jan Petersen has typified this ax as a type M in his axe blade typification.

This battle-ready axe is made for re-enactment battles, martial arts and full contact battles. The edges are slightly rounded, but the elegant shapes of the original are still clearly visible. This axe is hand-forged and tempered at a hardness of 53 HRC. The widening at the ring ensures that this axe stays firmly on its shaft.
