This helmet is a replica of a late 15th century closed helmet of king Ferdinand the 5th of Aragon. Helmets like this were worn in whole Europe. Nowadays it is part of the collection of the National Museum in Vienna.
The helmet is made in the typical Italian style but is finished after the Spanish fashion. The design is clearly a development of the bascinet and the tapering front serves to conduct impacts. The neck is protected by an extra roundel and the chin and neck are protected by an integrated bevor. The bevor can be detached and can be fastened to the helmet with a strap. This helmet is custom made, click here to download the size table.
