These medieval gauntlets are based on originals found in Canterbury Cathedral. They are estimated to date from 1350-1450 and are now part of the collection of the British Museum. Armored gloves in the form of an hourglass were used from the 2nd half of the 14th century and remained in use until well into the 1st half of the 15th century. They were the first protective gloves that consisted of multiple plates of iron.

These armor gloves are made of carbon steel and are 1.6 mm thick. On the inside they have comfortable high quality suede gloves. A nice detail is the hand-stitched finish of the gloves where they are fastened on the armor.
