This handmade chainmail coif is based on images in various medieval manuscripts. The shape of the coif is made after study of originals. Chainmail coifs were worn both separately, and below the helmet. Chainmail was re-used constantly, which means only few originals are found. Examples of this type of coif were found after the 14th century battle of Visby.
This chainmail coif is made of a combination of closed flat rings and round rings with round rivets.
