Chainmail leg protection made of a combination of closed flat rings and flat rings with wedge shaped rivets. Chainmail chausses were worn over the chausses or trousers. These leg pieces protect the full leg. They have a loop at the top to fasten them to your belt (see pictures) so you can wear them for hours comfortably. Similar chausses were mainly worn between the 11th century and the 2nd half of the 14th century. They were used, for example, during the Crusades. The mail legs protect the leg during full contact fighting and re-enactment battles.
