Product description

This badge is a replica of several archaeological finds from i.a. London. Badges like this were worn in 1450 during the War of the Roses in England and Wales. The sun was a symbol for the House of York.

Presumably the sun represented the star of Bethlehem. This motive was worn all over Europe in the 15th century, for example on pewter badges. This badge has a diameter of 4,2 cm.
