Product description

The Danish axe is an early type of battle axe that was mainly used in the period between the Viking age and the Middle Ages. During the tenth and eleventh centuries, the Danish axe won much popularity outside of Scandinavia, but in areas with strong Viking influences such as England, Ireland and Normandy. The Danish axe was an elite weapon in these regions. On the Bayeux tapestry all figures who carry a Danish ax, are depicted wearing full armor. A Danish axe is also offered to Harold for his coronation.

This axe is a perfect weapon for re-enacting Normans, Vikings, Anglo-Saxons and the Danelaw period. It has a razor sharp edge and is perfect for cutting wood.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.

Please note. After finishing the product yourself, the warranty and return right expire. Celtic WebMerchant is not responsible for the obtained result.
