This hairpin is a replica of a Roman original from the 1st-2nd century AD, excavated in Silchester. Women all over the Roman Empire wore hairpins like this.

The depicted hand can be associated with the Roman god Jupiter. The hairpin is made of bronze color bronze and it measures 14,5 x 1,3 cm.
