This bust is made after the world-famous statue of Emperor August, excavated in Prima Porta. The statue was discovered on 20th April 1863 in the villa of August's wife Livia. Nowadays, the statue is part of the collection of the Vatican Museums.
August was one of the first Roman emperors and has implemented many reforms in the Roman Empire. The reforms of Emperor Hadrian can also be perceived as the base for the exponential growth and the developments in the Roman Empire.
This bust is made of plaster alabaster, it is bronzed. This bust is 28 cm high.
