Product description

This jewel is based on an early medieval original made by the Goths. It was excavated in Suszyczno, Ukraine.
This pendant is shaped like a styled spearhead. It contains i.a. rune inscriptions.

The inscription rund from the right to the left and shows the word 'tilarids'. The most likely meaning is suggested by Prof. Johannes Hoops; according to him the word means in German Ziel-Reiter. In English this means 'target rider', it is presumably the name of the warrior or of the spear itself.

This pendant is made of brass and measures 5,5 x 1,3 cm.
