Akhenaten was a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. He probably lived until 1333 BC. He was the son of Amenhotep III and married his cousin Nefertiti. Akhenaten wanted to establish a monotheistic Egypt, with his father as the sun god. On this relief he is depicted as a high priest. He had a new capital built, Akhetaten. It is possible that Akhenaten was murdered by supporters of the expelled Amon cult. After his death everything was done to erase all traces of Akhenaten and also his capital.
This relief is handmade and hand painted in the details. Each model is unique.
