A Celtic dagger by Windlass Steelcrafts with an antique and hand-forged finish. This dagger is made after daggers and knives from the Hallstatt culture. This is a Celtic culture that flourished from 1200 to 475 BC. More than 1000 tombs with artifacts from this Celtic period have been excavated at Hallstatt in Austria. This dagger is made in the Celtic art style with abstract shapes like discs. Daggers like this were used in battle, or could be worn on a belt as a status symbol or be used in dire situations. This dagger has a hilt with antique bronze finish, a blade with hammer blows and is delivered including a scabbard. These details make the dagger look antique, authentic and completely hand-forged according to centuries-old tradition. The semi-sharp blade is made of tempered 1065 carbon steel and has a hardness of 48-52 HRC.

Prevent rust and corrosion by oiling your weapons regularly. Remove rust easily with black sandpaper. Remove burrs with a whetstone. Make sure you have removed all burrs before using a battle-ready weapon, as they can cause wounds.
Maintenance & care
Just as with weaponry, you can care for your shoes and leatherware by applying a little Ballistol after cleaning. This prevents the leather from drying out.
This item is semi-sharp and designed for decorative purposes. It can be made razor sharp at a surcharge. When using the sharpening service, the return right and warranty expires. The extra delivery time is approx. 2 weeks.
The blade of this sword can be blunted (2,5-3 mm) at a surcharge. Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.
Please note. After finishing the product yourself, the warranty and return right expire. Celtic WebMerchant is not responsible for the obtained result."
