This bone buckle is a replica of a 9th-10th century original excavated in North England. It was excavated in the region of the former Danelaw.

Buckles like this were made of bronze, brass or bone and used by both rich and poor. A great advantage of bone was that it was relatively cheap.

This buckle is completely handmade and measures 3,2 x 6 cm. It is suitable for a belt with a width of approx. 1,9 cm..
