This blade is based on a piece found in a male grave in Birka. Such seaxes were used all over Europe between the 5th and 10th century. This piece is made of damast steel and has a Rockwell hardness of 58 to 60 HRC. The blade is 43 cm long, has a cutting edge of circa 31 cm and is max. 3 cm wide.
