The Scottish backsword thanks its name to the blade of the sabre, which has one sharp edge contrary to the broadsword. This basket is made after models that were used during the last Jacobite Rising around 1750-1760.
The basket has some stylized 'S' letters, that symbolize Stewart (Stuart) or Sterling (the place where these baskets were made). This backsword is battle-ready, the blade is made of 1065 carbon steel with a 500 HRC hardness. The blade is approx. 3 mm thick.
