This box is made in the old Islamic art style of Andalusia (southern Spain). Until 1492, the kingdom of Andalusia was a Moorish kingdom in which Christians, Muslims and Jews lived side by side. From the 9th century AD, students from all over Europe were sent to Andalusia to study sciences such as astronomy and medical science. The Vikings also traveled to this area and traded with the Moors of the south.
This box is made in the art style that was widely used in this region. Even an entire throne in the Alhambra was created in this art style. This box is decorated with plates of bone, horn and wood. This box is, among other things, very suitable for storing jewelry.
