Product description

This Alemannic belt end is based on originals excavated at the Niederstotzingen burial (Germany). Belt ends like this were worn by all Germanic and Merovingian tribes around the 6th century AD. The belt end was excavated in grave 9, a male grave.
This belt end is suitable for belts with a width up to 2 cm. It measures 6 x 2 cm.
The graves of the South German town of Niederstotzingen contained many luxurious burial gifts. Together with this belt end, a sword, seax, shield edge, shield boss, lance, needles, knife, scissors and silver horse reigns were found.
