15th century pewter belt buckle

15th century pewter belt buckle

Description

This buckle is handmade of pewter. It is based on various originals from the late 14th and 15th centuries and is thus ideal for re-enacting the Hundred Years' war or the Wars of the Roses. Pewter is a base metal that is relatively cheap. This made this type of buckle available to all classes of society. The pin was originally made of pewter as well, but this replica features a silvered brass pin, which is a lot sturdier.
