Product description
This morion is based on 17th-century originals. It was worn during the English Civil War by the New Model Army and used by both pikemen and musketeers. The English renamed the helmet the “pikeman’s pot.” Helmets like this were also very popular during the Eighty Years’ War in the Low Countries, and the armies of William III continued to wear this type of helmet regularly during the Glorious Revolution.
The morion was designed to protect the head without obstructing vision. The cheek pieces are riveted to the helmet and provide additional protection for the face. The morion can be secured under the chin with a leather strap.
