This axe head is based on the 13th-14th century berdiche. Pole axes like this were used as agricultural tools in times of piece. In times of war they were transformed into widely feared weapons by fastening them to a longer shaft.
The berdiche was used unti the 19th century, especially in the Russian areas.

This berdiche measures 44 x 13 cm and has a ring with an inner diameter of 27,5 up to 28,5 mm

This scares the hell out of my neighbours! (just kidding) now seriously - I highly recommend this item, it has wery nice polished finish and the right proportions. Historical accurate and i Like it wery much. It reminds me of my childish Times when i played D2 LoD :) i recomend to put a cca 150cm Shaft on it to have the rightly done.
