Kira Kozuke expected generous gifts. Asano however refused and as a result the master of ceremony was badly informed. Feeling dishonoured, Asano attacked Kira with his knife. Kira survived the attack with just a small wound. Asano committed Seppuku (ritual suicide).\u003cbr \/\u003eUnder Asanos followers were 47 Samurais who became Ronin (samurai without master) because of this suicide. Soon they knew that this would mean their death and they designed a plan to kill the corrupt master of ceremony.\u003cbr \/\u003eThis event is an example of infinite loyalty and trust. The John Lee 47 Ronin katana is made in honour of these circumstances and is based on the originals that were used in Japan around the beginning of the 18th century.\u003cbr \/\u003e\u003cbr \/\u003eThis katana is handmade and has a razor sharp blade. The blade is made of 9260 carbon steel with a 55 HRC hardness. The blade is made in the Shobu-Zukuri style.\u003cbr \/\u003eThe grip is made of wood and wrapped round with shagreen and rough woven cotton. The grip is made in the Hineri-Maki style.
