The helmet was particularly popular in North-West Europe and Hungary. Various types of sallets were made, ranging from tournament helmets worn by knights during tournaments to simple celeta’s without visors worn by infantrymen. Historically, most examples did not have these because they were more expensive. For reenactment and LARP purposes, it is advisable to wear a sallet with a flip-up visor. This is more comfortable if you wear the helmet for a long time. Often, you can combine the sallet with the bevor. Most bevors with a flat raised edge fit most sallets.
