How do I maintain my LARP weapons and armor?
LARP weapons and some LARP armor are made of latex. However, latex is susceptible to drying out. When your latex weapons or armor dry out, they get damaged and can no longer be used during a LARP event. It's really important to perform the right maintenance on your latex LARP weapons and armor.
Maintenance
Maintaining latex items is fairly straightforward. Make sure the items are clean and dry after each use. Before you store them until the next time you use them, spray the latex with silicone spray. Use paper towels to wipe away some of the silicone spray, but always make sure there's still some silicone spray left to keep the latex hydrated.
When spraying your latex LARP weapons, also pay attention to the material of the grip. These can also be made of latex.
