This axehead is made after several originals found in Scandinavia and on the British Isles. This type of axehead was demonstrably used from the 9th century on, but it is expected that it was already used around the 4th century.
The axe is provided with a wide edge, because of which it can be used for re-enactment purposes. It measures 15 x 8,5 cm and has an eye that measures 2,4 x 3,5 cm. The axehead weighs 280 grams and has a rounded blade with a thickness of 3 mm.This axehead is a Petersen type B.
