This spearhead is a replica of the holy lance. The original is part of the collection of the Weltliche Schatzkammer in Vienna. The lance contains the inscription: LANCEA ET CLAVUS DOMINI (the lance and the nail of the lord).
According to the legend, this was the lance which pierced Christ in his side after his crucifixion. The Roman soldier who did this is called Longinus. It is not known from which period this lance dates, it has been part of the greatest art treasuries of Europe for centuries.
This lance has a length of 45,7 cm and a max. width of 6,7 cm. It is competely handmade.
