This cuirass stands out because of it wide and long tassets that reach to over the knee. The cuirass is made after a 16th century Swiss original and was worn in i.a. the army of the Vatican. Cuirasses like this were used by pikemen and halberdiers in whole Europe.
The breastplate and backplate were closed at the shoulders by metal bands and the tassets consist of seven parts. The cuirass weighs approx. 8 kg and offers sufficient freedom of movement.
The armour is made of cold rolled plate steel. It is available with a steel thickness of 1,3 mm; 1,6 mm or 2,0 mm and with an unpolished or polished finish.
