This is a surcoat that could be worn over the suit of armour or hauberk and it was used for protection against heat and dust. When a surcoat was not worn the armour could burn. This surcoat has a depiction of the Templars cross, the knight order that was banned in 1307 because Philip the Fair, deeply indebted to them, wanted their money.
The cotton surcoat has a length of approx. 135 cm and it fits all sizes.
