Half armours like this were used from the end of the 16thcentury onwards. The function of the cavalryman on the battlefield changed, the lanced was exchanged for guns and the cavalry was more often commanded to shoot the enemy lines.
The suit of armour is relatively light and comfortable. The cuirass is goose bellied. The tassets consist of ten parts and have a poleyn with a roundel.
The armour is made of cold rolled plate steel. It is available with a steel thickness of 1,3 or 1,5 mm and with an unpolished, polished or bronzed finish.
