This shield is made after a late 15th century Spanish original. Nowadays it is part of the Wallace Collection in London. The shield was worn by the Spanish troops in the Spanish Armada.
The edges of the shield are decorated with rope-shaped ends. The shield is provided with several ribs that serve for both decoration and solidity.
It has a diameter of approx. 50 cm. The back has a strap, a grip and an arm pillow for a better wearing comfort.
