This seal capsule is made after several originals excavated all over Europe. Capsules like this were used from the 1st to 4th century AD.
This is how it works:
1: place the capsule under two closing ends of the papyrus scroll or parchment or underneath the four laces that close a wax tablet. 2. Fill the capsule with wax and make an imprint with the lid. 3. Remove the lid and place the seal with a seal ring.
This capsule is made of bronze and measures 3,5 cm.
This item is produced in limited quantities only. This means that every piece is unique. Sizes & finish may vary lightly from piece to piece.
