The cave temple of Abu Simbel was made in the 13th century BC commissioned by pharaoh Ramses II. The temple is situated 240 km south of the Aswan Dam. In 1960 the temple was moved 200 metres to prevent flooding as a result of building the Aswan Dam.

This relief is made of dark plaster alabaster. It measures 27 x 22 cm. The back of the relief is provided with a hole to hang it to a wall.
