The original of this relief is made in the era that money was just new in West Europe. The relief depicts tax collection or paying interest. The original is nowadays part of the collection of the Landesmuseum in Trier. It dates from the 2nd or 3rd century AD.
This relief depicts counting money and keeping accounts on wax tablets. The facial expressions and the men`s garments are very clear.
This relief is made of plaster alabaster and measures 53 x 26 cm. The back of the relief is provided with holes to hang it to the wall.
