The shamshir is a sword with a curved blade. There are different kinds of shamshirs like the saif, the kilij and the pulwar. The first shamshirs were used around 1500 BC in Egypt.
From there it was spread through a part of Asia and the Middle East. The original shamshirs had a shape of almost half a circle so the warrior could slash at a target but further it was not effective. This is why the later shamshir had a blade that was more slightly curved. This shamshir has a length of 89 cm with a blade of 73 cm and a cross-guard of 11 cm. It can be easily held in the hand because of the characteristic pommel. The sabre weighs 1,1 kg.
This sabre is custom made.
