This barbute is made after an original that is depicted in a convent in Northern Ireland. The type of helmet was originally an Italian development, but was even worn in Ireland. Comparable originals are nowadays part of the collection of the Wallace Collection, the Glasgow Museum, the Museum of Cluny and Musée de l?Armée.
As a result of patination this barbute has an antique look. It can be fastened with a chinstrap.
