This sallet is made after a 15th century original. Helmets like this were mainly made in Germany but were worn in whole Europe. The helmet was popular among both infantrymen and the heavy cavalry. Nowadays it is part of the collection of the Musée de L?Armée in Paris.
The helmet is made of 2 mm thick steel and is provided with a leather inlay. It is suitable for a head circumference up to 62 cm and weighs 3 kg.
