This handmade palm cup is a replica of a Frankish original from the 6th-8th century AD. The original is part of the collection of the National Archaeological Museum in Nurnberg, Germany. Palm cups were mostly used by the Franks and the Merovingians between the end of the 5th and the first half of the 8th century AD. Various originals have been excavated in Germanic and Viking graves. This palm cup is made of white glass, just like the original, with blue pigments to the liquid substance
