This helmet is a replica of an original from approx. 1550 AD. Helmets like this were originally made in the Holy Roman Empire and were worn by the aristocracy in whole Europe. The typical rib motives make the steel thickness thicker than it actually is, because of this Maximilian armour was the best armour of its time. The original is nowadays part of the Wallace Collection in London.

The helmet consists of three parts and offers both a good field of view and an optimal protection. Helmets like this were mainly used during war. The helmet is decorated with rope-shaped ends.
