Nasal helmets were used from the 9th century until the 13th century. Its name comes from the nasal piece that protected the face. The helmet is made from one piece of steel, which makes it stronger than its predecessor the Spangenhelm. This helmet is a replica of a model that is depicted in the Maciejowski bible. Comparable helmets were found in the Rhine in The Netherlands and in Vienna.
