This handmade lock is a replica of an original excavated in the Viking town of Haithabu. Vikings used their chests for storaging and safekeeping of goods and as seats.

Around the 10th century locks were valuable technical pieces. Similar locks (and keys for locks like this) are excavated in Jorvik, Haithabu, Mästermyr and Birka.

This lock is completely handmade of iron. It measures 20,5 x 7 cm and has an upper hinge of 15 cm.

This item is produced in limited quantities only. This means that every piece is unique. Sizes & finish may vary lightly from piece to piece.
