This spatha is a replica of a original from the 4th century  AD. Nowadays it`s part of the collection of the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Bonn. This sword was probably used by a Germanic auxiliary in service of the Roman legions.

The spatha is 93 cm long, with a blade of 70 cm long and 4,8 cm wide. The blade has two fullers to make it lighter. The hilt is like the original made of bone. This sword comes with a wooden scabbard, covered with black leather and decorated with brass ornaments. The scabbard is made after parts found back in Rhineland. This sword weighs 1,7 kg.

This item is semi-sharp and designed for decorative purposes. It can be made razor sharp at a surcharge.

This item is produced in limited quantities only. This means that every piece is unique. Sizes & finish may vary lightly from piece to piece.
